Rampage Announce 2010-11 Regular Season Schedule

The San Antonio Rampage will officially open their ninth American Hockey League (AHL) season at home on Friday, October 8 at 7 p.m., at the AT&T Center as they host the Chicago Wolves.

The Rampage will play a total of 80 games (40 home, 40 away) with a fan-friendly home schedule featuring 29 weekend dates (12 Fridays, 8 Saturdays and 9 Sundays). All of the Rampage home games start at 7 p.m. with the exception of Sunday games which will start at either 3 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. The Rampage have one school day game scheduled for Wednesday, January 26 at 10:30 a.m. 

All regular season games can be heard on the Rampage’s flagship station KTKR “The Ticket” 760 AM (subject to conflicts) with Dan Weiss serving as the voice of the Rampage.

SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN

The Rampage will be one of 30 teams competing for the Calder Cup and will face 14 opponents this season. The Rampage will square off against the Oklahoma City Barons, the Edmonton Oilers’ top affiliate, on 10 occasions as they make their AHL debut this season.

The Rampage will face their two in-state rivals, the Texas Stars and Houston Aeros, 10 times each (five games at home, five games away). The Rampage’s first road game will be against the Texas Stars at Cedar Park Center on Saturday, Oct. 16 and coincidentally close the regular season against the Stars on Sunday, April 10 at the AT&T Center.

The Rampage are part of the eight-team West Division and will play 58 games against their division opponents. The Western Conference consists of both the West Division and North Division in which the Rampage play a total of 78 games against their Conference opponents including 20 games against the North Division. The Rampage will play two games against the East Division’s Syracuse Crunch, the only opponent the Rampage will face in the Eastern Conference.

The season begins with nine of 11 games played at the AT&T Center. Throughout the season the Rampage will tackle 11 sets of three games in three nights and 11 back-to-back contests. The Rampage’s annual Rodeo road trip will feature a 9-game odyssey in a 22-day span comprising approximately 11,678 miles.
