SAN ANTONIO (March 9, 2014) – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced Monday that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has loaned goaltender Rob Madore to the team’s ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Madore, 25, has spent the majority of his time this season with Cincinnati, where he is currently 13-10-0 through 24 games, posting a 2.97 goals against average and a .903 save percentage. He has posted two shutouts for the Cyclones. Through five games with the Rampage this season, Madore has gone 1-2-1 with a .906 save percentage and a 3.23 goals-against average.
The 5-foot-10, 176-pound netminder split time last year with the Evansville Icemen (ECHL), the Florida Everblades (ECHL), and the Charlotte Checkers in his second professional season. He made his professional debut with Chicago (ECHL) during the 2010-11 season.
Prior to turning pro, Madore played four years (2008-12) at the University of Vermont and finished his career ranked second all-time in saves (3,352) for the Catamounts, behind only former Florida Panthers and current Dallas Stars goaltender Tim Thomas.
