SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 24, 2014) – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced Monday that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has reassigned defenseman Josh McFadden to the club’s ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
McFadden, 22, has played in three games for the Rampage this season. After being recalled on Feb. 23, he skated with the Rampage in Sunday’s game at Hamilton. He appeared in one game with the team after his initial recall in November and another following a recall on Jan. 16. The blue-liner has played in 37 games for the Cyclones this season and has recorded six goals and nine points in that span. The 6-foot-1, 207-pound defenseman donned the Silver and Black in nine games last season during his rookie campaign, but was held off the score sheet. McFadden spent the majority of his rookie year with Cincinnati, recording two goals and 12 assists in 28 games.
Prior to turning pro, the Guleph, Ontario native played four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, totaling 222 games and 150 points (39 goals, 111 assists). During the 2010-11 season, McFadden led the Sudbury Wolves in scoring and was third in the league among defenseman with 19 goals and 53 assists in 67 games.
The Rampage will close out the Rodeo Road Trip inside the Memorial Auditorium in Central New York on Wednesday (Feb. 26) at 6 p.m. as they take on the Utica Comets for the second time this season. San Antonio returns home on Saturday, March 1 for Military Appreciation Night and their ninth matchup of the season against the Texas Stars at 7 p.m. Individual and season tickets can be purchased at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office, by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554, or online at sarampage.com
