Rampage make roster moves

Florida Panthers Executive Vice President & General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled right wing Michal Repik and center Jonathan Matsumoto from the San Antonio Rampage (AHL). Additionally, the Panthers have assigned defenseman Nolan Yonkman to San Antonio. The Rampage also announced that they have recalled forwards Anthony Luciani and Joe Devin from their ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Repik, 23, earns his fourth recall to Florida this season. He has played in 16 games with the Panthers this year totaling two goals, three assists and six PIM.  The Vlasim, Czech Republic native has appeared in 35 games with San Antonio, recording 24 points (10-14-24) and 37 PIM. He’s totaled 20 points (9-11-20) in 71 games with the Panthers over the last four seasons. Repik was drafted by Florida in the second round (40th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Matsumoto, 25, earns his first recall to Florida this season after being acquired by the Panthers in a four-player trade on Jan. 18. In 14 games played in San Antonio this season, Matsumoto has recorded four goals with 11 assists, previously totaling 34 points (13-21-34) in 41 games with Charlotte earlier this season. The Ottawa, Ont., native totaled two goals and 4 PIM in 13 games with the Carolina Hurricanes last season, and was selected by Philadelphia in the third round (79th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Yonkman, 30, skated in one game with the Panthers, posting 6:19 TOI Sunday vs. Anaheim, his first recall of the season. The 6-foot-6, 251-pound captain of the Rampage led San Antonio with a plus-14 rating in 43 games this season, depositing nine points (1-8-9) and 91 PIM, at the time of his recall Feb. 18.

Luciani, 21, has totaled 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 34 games with the Cyclones this season. The 5-foot-8, 190-pound forward was recalled by the Rampage on Dec. 10, 2011 and appeared in one game. Luciani, a native of Maple, Ontario, played in three games with the Rochester Americans (AHL) last season contributing two goals and one assist.

Devin, 24, has skated in 17 games with the Rampage this season totaling one goal and one assist and scored his first AHL goal in his AHL debut on Nov. 5, 2011. The 6-foot-1, 186-pound forward has appeared in 34 games with Cincinnati this season posting five goals and nine assists. Devin, a native of Scituate, Mass., played in 116 career collegiate games with Cornell University (ECAC) over the course of four seasons (2007-11) collecting 37 goals and 27 assists.

The Rampage travel to Peoria, Ill. for a back-to-back matchup with the Rivermen on Friday and Saturday at Carver Arena. The team will round out their 10th annual Rodeo road trip with stops in Milwaukee on Sunday and Chicago on Wednesday. Follow the Rampage’s road trip on sarampage.com.
