SAN ANTONIO (November 4, 2012) – Rampage goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris stopped all 27 shots he faced en route to his second shutout in five starts this season, as San Antonio blanked Oklahoma City, 2-0, on Sunday night at AT&T Center.

Rookie defenseman Alex Petrovic recorded his first goal of the season in the second period, which held as the eventual game winner. Defenseman Colby Robak added the insurance goal with just over two minutes remaining in regulation to help the Rampage earn its fourth straight win at AT&T Center.

Both Rampage goals came via the power play, as San Antonio went 2-for-4 on the night and held the Barons to 0-for-5 with the man-advantage.

Grumet-Morris was able to backstop the Rampage to the victory, despite Oklahoma City’s top line of Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (1st overall pick in 2011), Taylor Hall (1st overall pick in 2010) and Jordan Eberle (22nd overall in 2008) being reunited for the first time this season after spending all of last year playing for the Baron’s NHL affiliate, the Edmonton Oilers.

Rampage forward Greg Rallo had the best scoring opportunity in the first period for San Antonio. Rookie forward Drew Shore found Rallo streaking to the net and Rallo was able to fire a one-timer. However the shot was turned aside by Barons goaltender Olivier Roy.

The Rampage kept the pressure up early in the second period and eventually lit the lamp on the power play at 11:15 of the middle frame. The power-play unit cycled the puck and rookie John McFarland made a cross-ice pass to Petrovic, who blasted the puck into the top shelf of the net.

The goal was the first of the season for Petrovic and also gave McFarland his first professional point with the assist. Jon Rheault also picked up a helper on the tally, his third point in two games, as he recorded a pair of goals in Friday’s 3-2 victory over Grand Rapids.

Grumet-Morris kept the Rampage ahead with a little help from the post early in the third period while the Barons were on the power play. Grumet-Morris made a post-to-post sprawling save and was able to get just enough of the puck to keep it out of the net.

Robak gave the Rampage a two-goal lead at 17:43 of the third period with a blast from the point that made its way through traffic and past Roy. McFarland was credited with his second assist of the game and defenseman Tyson Strachan also picked up a helper on the goal.

Grumet-Morris held strong until the buzzer to help San Antonio secure the victory. The Rampage netminder has allowed a total of six goals in his five starts this season and owns a 2-2-1 record.

The Rampage will play their third game of the four game homestand on Saturday, Nov. 10 against the Toronto Marlies at 7:00 p.m. at AT&T Center. Individual, and season, tickets start at $10 and can be purchased at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office, by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com
