Update: Former Rampage Players in the Stanley Cup Playoffs
The Stanley Cup Playoffs have entered the second round, and there are still a couple opportunities to catch former Rampage players in action.
Jay Bouwmeester, who played 66 games in a Rampage sweater between the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons, has played in each of the St. Louis Blues' nine playoff contests so far. The Blues won their first-round series against the Chicago Blackhawks, beating the defending Stanley Cup Champions in a thrilling seven-game series. Bouwmeester has tallied two assists and 18 penalty minutes so far, as the Blues tied the Western Conference Second Round series against the Dallas Stars at one game apiece with a 4-3 overtime win on Sunday. The series heads to St. Louis for Game 3 on Tuesday night.
Washington Capitals forward Daniel Winnik, who recorded 23 points in 78 career contests with the Silver and Black during the 2005-09 seasons, has skated in each of the Washington Capitals’ eight postseason contests. The Caps topped the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 in their opening-round series, and are now taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference Second Round. The series is tied at one with Game 3 tonight in Pittsburgh. Click here to see an interview with Winnik on Sunday after the Capitals arrived in Pittsburgh.
