Forward Alex Belzile Earns Third Star of the Game with One Goal for San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO (March 17, 2017) – The San Antonio Rampage (24-32-5-1) fell to the San Diego Gulls (36-15-3-2) 2-1 in overtime at the AT&T Center on Friday evening.

San Diego opened the scoring early in the first period when Antoine Laganiere registered his 20th of the season just 31 seconds into the opening frame. The remainder of the first period went scoreless as the Gulls took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

After a scoreless second period, the Rampage broke Dustin Tokasrski's shutout to tie the game at one. Alex Belzile found the back of the net at the 13:46 mark of the third stanza thanks to forwards Troy Bourke and Rocco Grimaldi, who assisted on the play.

The contest was forced into overtime after San Antonio's third-period tally, but San Diego's Kevin Roy landed the game-winning goal just 16 seconds into extra time.
