SANANTONIO (Dec. 5, 2018)–– The San Antonio Rampage today announced that the Stanley Cup, the oldest and most prized trophy in professional sports, will be on display at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on Saturday, Dec. 22 when the Rampage take on the Texas Stars at 7 p.m.

The Stanley Cupis the oldest existing trophy to be awarded to a professional sports franchise and is viewed as one of the most important championships available across all sports. During the game, fans will have the opportunity to have their picture taken with the Stanley Cup. Fans of the Silver and Black can also purchase a Fast Pass at the game for a chance to skip the line. The Stanley Cup will be displayed on the concourse at Section 115-116. Fans can also add two 16oz beers to any ticket for just $6.

The Stanley Cup, the oldest trophy competed for by professional athletes in North America, was donated in 1892 by Sir Frederick Arthur Stanley, Lord Stanley of Preston and son of the Earl of Derby. He purchased the trophy for 10 Guineas to be presented to "the championship hockey club of the Dominion of Canada” and first team awarded the Stanley Cup was the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association in 1893. The National Hockey Association took possession of the Stanley Cup in 1910 and beginning in 1926, only NHL teams have competed for the prized trophy.

The Stanley Cupis the championship trophy awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) playoff winner. Since the 1914-15 season, the Cup has been won a combined 95 times by 18 active NHL teams and five defunct teams. The current Stanley Cup, topped with a copy of the original bowl, is made of a silver and nickel alloy: it has a height of 35.25 inches and weighs 34.5 pounds.

Each pack is completely customizable, allowing fans to use the full set of tickets at one game or to disperse them throughout multiple games.
