Rampage Fall 4-0 to Stars in 2017-18 Preseason Finale
CEDAR PARK, Texas (Sept. 30, 2017) – The San Antonio Rampage were shut out 4-0 by the Texas Stars in their 2017-18 preseason finale on Saturday night at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Denis Gurianov opened the scoring for the Stars 7:50 into the opening frame when he finished a loose puck in front of the Rampage net to give Texas a 1-0 lead. The remainder of the period went scoreless as the Stars took the 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Texas extended its lead at the 9:26 mark of the second stanza when Cole Ully cleaned up Max French's breakaway attempt for his second goal of the preseason.
The Stars collected their third goal of the night 3:42 into the final frame, when Justin Dowling buried a backdoor pass from Gurianov. Nearly ten minutes later, the Stars capped off their scoring with a Brent Regner tally at the 13:19 mark. Gurianov and Dowling earned assists on the play as the Stars secured the preseason victory.
