SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 1, 2017) – The San Antonio Rampage today announced that forwards Brendan Ranford and Brady Shaw have been signed to an AHL contracts.
Ranford, 25, was acquired by Colorado at this season's trade deadline and tallied four goals and 13 assists in 21 games with the San Antonio Rampage. He finished with 34 points (10g/24a) in a combined 67 games with the Texas Stars, Tucson Roadrunners and Rampage in the 2016-17 campaign.
Philadelphia's sixth selection (seventh round, 209th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft, Ranford has amassed 177 points (59g/118a) in 281 career AHL games. He made his NHL debut for the Dallas Stars on Feb. 19, 2015.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound left wing has totaled 21 points (9g/12a) in 28 career playoff contests for the Texas Stars. He ranked third on the team with eight goals and 16 points during the Stars' 2014 Calder Cup Championship run.
A native of Edmonton, Alta., Ranford played six seasons with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League from 2007-13.
Shaw, 24, rejoins the Silver and Black after making his professional debut with the Rampage on April 1 against the Stockton Heat. The Ottawa, Ont. native appeared in six contests after signing his second amateur tryout contract with San Antonio on Mar. 29.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound forward spent the previous four seasons with the University of Vermont (H-East), tallying 77 points (37g/40a) in 142 games. Shaw also spent two seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League and won a BCHL Championship in the 2012-13 season with the Surrey Eagles.
The Rampage will open their 16th American Hockey League season on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. against the Ontario Reign at the AT&T Center.
