Rampage Recall Goaltender Joe Cannata From Colorado Eagles
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 27, 2017) – The San Antonio Rampage today announced that goaltender Joe Cannata has been recalled from the Colorado Eagles (ECHL). In addition, the Rampage have reassigned netminder Sam Brittain to the Eagles.
Cannata began the season with the Eagles, earning seven wins in his eight games played while registering a 2.10 goals-against average and .928 save percentage. Originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Draft (173rd overall), Cannata split the 2016-17 season between the Rampage, Hersey Bears (AHL), and South Carolina Stingrays (ECHL). The 6-foot-1, 200-pound netminder collected a 13-8-4-0 record, 3.30 goals-against average, and an .875 save percentage in 28 AHL contests last season.
Brittain registered a 4.11 goals-against average and an .862 save percentage in one game during his call-up with the Rampage. He has appeared in seven contests with the Eagles this season, posting a 3-3-0 record along with a 3.33 goals-against average and .894 save percentage.
The Silver and Black return to the Alamo City when they take on the Iowa Wild on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the AT&T Center.
