SAN ANTONIO (August 27, 2018) – The San Antonio Rampage today announced that J.J. Daigneault and Daniel Tkaczuk have been named assistant coaches and Ryan Ward has been named video assistant coach.
Daigneault joins the Rampage after spending the past six seasons as an assistant coach with the Montreal Canadiens. The Montreal, Que. native was also an assistant coach with the Hartford Wolf Pack and Connecticut Whale from 2007 to 2012 and served as an assistant coach and director of player personnel with the Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL during the 2005-06 season.
A former first-round pick (#10 overall) by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft, Daigneault spent 16 seasons in the National Hockey League recording 53 goals and 250 points in 899 career games with 10 different teams and was a member of the Canadiens Stanley Cup championship squad in 1993.
Tkaczuk spent the 2017-18 season as an assistant and skills coach on Head Coach Mike Yeo’s staff with the Blues. The Toronto, Ont. native served as an assistant coach with the Chicago Wolves during the 2016-17 season helping the Wolves advance to the Central Division Finals. Prior to his time in Chicago, Tkaczuk spent four years as an assistant coach in the Ontario Hockey League with the Kitchener Rangers and Owen Sound Attack. A former first-round pick (#6 overall) by the Calgary Flames in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Tkaczuk played 12 seasons of professional hockey with stints in the NHL, AHL, and Europe.
Ward comes to San Antonio after serving as an assistant for the past two seasons with Rampage Head Coach Drew Bannister with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. Prior to joining the Greyhounds, Ward worked as a video coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies from 2014 to 2016 and has also spent time with the New York Islanders, USA Hockey, and the University of Rhode Island.
The Blues also announced Koryd Lavimoniere as head athletic trainer, Steven Passineau as head equipment manager, Jack Markwardt as assistant equipment manager, and Abe Edson as strength and conditioning coach.
Lavimoniere is in his fourth season of pro hockey and comes to San Antonio after spending the past two years with the Norfolk Admirals of the ECHL. Passineau begins his 13th season in pro hockey and his eighth as head equipment manager for the Rampage after joining the organization back in 2011. Markwardt returns to the Rampage after serving as assistant equipment manager during the 2017-18 season. Edson joins the Rampage after serving the past two years with the Bakersfield Condors.
