CEDAR PARK, Texas (Oct. 21, 2017) – The San Antonio Rampage (4-1-0-0) collected five goals in the second period en route to a 6-2 victory over the Texas Stars (3-2-0-1) on Saturday at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

After a scoreless first period, Travis Morin opened the scoring for the Stars 4:50 into the second frame when he collected his own rebound in front of the net and connected on his second attempt. San Antonio quickly responded as Dominic Toninato registered his first professional goal at the 5:29 mark. The Silver and Black took the lead at 6:25 when Andrei Mironov ricocheted the puck off a Stars skate and into the back of the net. Reid Petryk extended San Antonio's lead to two when he recorded an unassisted goal at 9:25 for his first of the 2017-18 season. Just 84 seconds later, the Rampage lit the lamp when Mironov set up Toninato with a breakaway opportunity on Stars goaltender Landon Bow at 10:49. San Antonio added a fifth goal just over a minute later as A.J. Greer fed Felix Girard, who sent a backhanded shot past Bow 11:54 into the stanza. After surrendering five consecutive goals in the second period, Texas opted to play netminder Mike McKenna between the pipes. The Stars cut into the lead with 66 seconds remaining in the middle frame as Curtis McKenzie recorded his second goal of the weekend.

San Antonio added insurance with 80 seconds left in the contest, when Joe Colborne registered an empty-net goal to secure a 6-2 victory.
