RAMPAGE TO BECOME “LOS CHIMUELOS DE SAN ANTONIO” ON OCTOBER 26 IN CELEBRATION OF DÍA DE LOS MUERTOSSep 20, 2018
SAN ANTONIO (Sept. 20, 2018) –The San Antonio Rampage tonight announced that the team will temporarily change its identity to Los Chimuelos de San Antonio in honor of the club’s first-ever Día de los Muertos game. Chimuelos players will hit the ice on Oct. 26 in specialty jerseys as the AT&T Center transforms into a Día de los Muertos celebration.
The new team identity celebrates San Antonio’s vibrant and rich Hispanic culture. The name Chimuelos (pronounced chee-MWAY-lohs) – a man who is missing teeth – is a playful nod to the nature of dental issues in hockey. The temporary name and logo were unveiled with the help of T-Bone – who will become El Bistec (Spanish for steak) for the Oct. 26 game – during an identity reveal party on Thursday evening at La Gloria at The Pearl.
Los Chimuelos de San Antonio will host the San Jose Barracuda on Friday, Oct. 26 at the AT&T Center. Tickets for the game are available now at SARampage.com/Chimuelos. Fans can add an exclusive, commemorative Chimuelos bobblehead to any ticket for an additional $10, while supplies last. Bobblehead packages will increase to $15 with the purchase of any ticket starting on Oct. 8 at noon CT.
Chimuelos gear is now available for purchase at SARampage.com/Chimuelos and at the Spurs Fan Shop at the AT&T Center starting Opening Night, Oct. 6. Oct. 26 will also be a Bud Light $1 Drink Night at the AT&T Center. Fans can purchase $1 domestic beers and sodas throughout the game.
Individual and season tickets are available and can be purchased by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at SARampage.com. All Rampage games can be heard on Ticket 760 and SARampage.com. The 2018-19 season is presented by H-E-B and Wells Fargo.
