FIVE PLAYERS ASSIGNED TO RAMPAGE BY ST. LOUISSep 22, 2019
SAN ANTONIO, TX (September 22, 2019) – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced on Sunday that the Blues have assigned five players to the Rampage.
Forwards Michael Vecchione, Dakota Joshua, and Robby Jackson will join San Antonio, along with defenseman Mitch Reinke and goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick.
Reinke, 23, enjoyed a record-breaking rookie season for the Rampage in 2018-19. He set new franchise marks for a rookie defenseman with 12 goals, 33 assists, and 45 points. The Stillwater, Minnesota native tied for third among AHL defensemen with nine power play goals and ranked second with 28 power play points. Reinke was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team and was recalled by St. Louis for their Stanley Cup run.
Vecchione, 26, prepares for his third professional season. A native of Saugus, Massachusetts, Vecchione posted 15 goals and 38 points in 67 games last season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, ranking fifth on the team in scoring. Vecchione has collected 32 goals and 78 points in 132 AHL games for the Phantoms, in addition to two NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2016-17 season.
Joshua, 23, was acquired by the Blues on Jul. 12 from the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Dearborn, Michigan native completed a four-year career at Ohio State University in 2018-19, recording nine goals and 22 points in 32 games during his senior season and winning a conference championship. A fifth-round draft pick of the Maple Leafs in 2014, Joshua posted 41 goals and 100 points in 128 NCAA games
Jackson, 22, rejoins the Rampage on an AHL contract after appearing with the team for three games last season. An Alameda, California native, Jackson scored his first professional goal in his pro debut against the Texas Stars on Apr. 10. Jackson completed his senior season at St. Cloud State University in 2018-19, notching 19 goals and 40 points in 37 games. In four seasons at St. Cloud State from 2015-19, Jackson totaled 52 goals and 121 points in 149 games.
Fitzpatrick, 21, appeared in eight games with the Rampage during his rookie season in 2018-19. The St. John’s, Newfoundland native posted a 2-3-0 record with a 2.66 goals-against average and a .901 save percentage with San Antonio. The Blues’ second-round draft pick in 2016 also appeared in 25 games with the ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers, going 12-10-2.
The Rampage begin training camp on Monday morning, with practice scheduled for 9:45 a.m. at Northwoods Ice Center. All practice sessions at Northwoods are open to the public.
