AVALANCHE REASSIGN FORWARD JIM O’BRIEN AND GOALTENDER SPENCER MARTIN
SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 26, 2017) – The Colorado Avalanche announced today that forward Jim O’Brien and goaltender Spencer Martin have been reassigned to the San Antonio Rampage (AHL).
Martin played in two contests with the Avalanche, recording an .857 save percentage and 4.02 goals-against average. The rookie netminder recorded his NHL debut on Jan. 21 against the San Jose Sharks. Martin has appeared in 27 games with San Antonio this season, earning a 15-9-2-0 record, .915 save percentage and 2.62 goals-against average between the pipes. The Oakville, Ont. native has collected the fifth-most wins this season, and holds the fourth-best rookie goals-against average.
O’Brien has registered seven goals and 10 assists in 26 contests with the Rampage, including 11 points in his last 15 games. The Maplewood, Minn. native is currently tied with Mike Sislo for fifth in Rampage scoring with 17 points.
San Antonio continues its 10-game homestand at 7:30 p.m. Friday against the Ontario Reign. Friday's game will also be a Bud Light KISS 99.5 $1 Drink Night.
