Josh Sweeney finished with a tournament-high 13 points, including a hat trick in the team’s 3-0 win over the Buffalo Sabres in the semifinals. He also assisted on all three goals in the championship, each of which were scored by Rico Roman. Luke McDermott’s seven assists led all skaters in the tournament.
Roman, Sweeney and goalie Jen Lee were also part of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team that captured the gold medal at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi. Sweeney scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over Russia in the gold-medal game.
