Rampage loan Josh Birkholz to Cincinnati

San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has loaned forward Josh Birkholz to the team’s ECHL affiliate, the Cincinnati Cyclones.
Birkholz, 21, potted a team-leading 29 goals and 57 points in 70 games last season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Maple Grove, Minn. native recorded 47 goals, 39 assists, and 86 points in 138 career games with the Silvertips, and also totaled five goals and six points in 36 career games at the University of Minnesota (NCAA). Birkholz was selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round (67th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
The Rampage travel to Oklahoma City for the team’s first road-trip of the season today at 7 p.m. before returning to AT&T Center for a 7 p.m. tilt against Milwaukee on Saturday.
